01 · Discover what your kitchen needs.
Start with the room as it is today. Talk through daily frustrations, the things worth keeping, the changes you hope to make and your expectations for budget and timing. Photos and a short priority list are enough to make that first conversation useful.
What you bring
Your kitchen brief, photos, approximate dimensions, appliance intentions and any building rules. Approximate dimensions help discussion; final orders need verified measurements.
02 · Develop the layout and selections.
Bring cabinet design, appliances, work surfaces, lighting and circulation together. Review structural or service changes early. Materials, product specifications and responsibility for supplying each item should be recorded alongside the drawings.
What needs to be resolved
The measured plan, feasibility questions, major selections, appliance specifications and applicable approval requirements.
03 · Confirm the scope and prepare.
Review the written quote, inclusions, exclusions and allowances. Agree how changes will be documented and priced. Confirm lead times, deliveries, access and the period when the kitchen will be unavailable.
Separate planning time from construction time.
Design, ordering and approvals happen before on-site construction. The useful schedule shows both, together with dependencies such as cabinetry readiness, countertop templating and inspections.
04 · Coordinate the renovation.
Site protection and removal come before preparation and the new kitchen. Trade work, cabinetry, surfaces and finishing follow the agreed sequence. If conditions uncovered on site affect the scope, the added work, cost and timing should be discussed before proceeding.
Prepare for life without the kitchen.
Plan meals, temporary storage, safe access and the needs of children or pets. Do not assume that water, appliances or work surfaces will be available each evening.
05 · Review, hand over and care for the room.
Walk through the completed scope. Review cabinet and drawer operation, visible finishes, appliance connections and any outstanding items with the appropriate installer. Keep care instructions, product information and the agreed follow-up items together.
